Accessibility
At Flowserve, our Purpose and Values guide us in creating an environment that celebrates and recognizes diversity, equity and inclusion. Our Flowserve Corporation website is no different – we want everyone who visits our website to feel welcome and to find the experience rewarding. We are committed to meeting usability and design standards that ensure web and mobile accessibility to everyone – including those with disabilities.
We’re helping you find what you need more easily
To make this website a positive place for everyone, we use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user friendly for everyone.
The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). We’ve chosen Level AA as the target for the Flowserve Corporation website.
What have we done to make this website more accessible?
To achieve our goal of Level AA accessibility, a third-party audit on the Flowserve Corporate website was conducted to identify areas of improvement. In response, we corrected the following to ensure our users have a smooth and seamless experience:
- Non-Text Content – reviewed alternative text to correct missing, duplicate, and too long text.
- Info and Relationships – included ARIA tags to improve this structure of forms.
- Contrast – adjusted the colors to improve the contrast ratio.
- Keyboard Compatibility – reworked the markup to use the Tab key and other keystrokes.
- Link Purpose (In Context) – created textual content for empty or unclear links.
- Headings and Labels – updated header tag structure to improve hierarchical order.
- Focus Visible – added on focus indicators into the theme of our website.
- HTML5 Landmarks – added ARIA attributes to clearly explain the purpose of the landmark.
Try these tips to help you better access this website
Consider magnifying your screen. All recent versions of Windows include a magnifier, which can enlarge a portion of the screen. You can access information about Windows Magnifier software in Windows 10, Windows 8.1, and Windows 7. If you are running Apple’s OSX operating systems, you can use the built-in zoom feature.
Consider using a screen reader. These programs will read the content of the web page. You can access information about Windows Narrator software in Windows 10, Windows 8.1, and Windows 7. If you are running Apple’s OSX operating systems, you can use the voiceover feature. Third-party screen readers are also available, such as JAWS (Job Access With Speech) and the freeware program NVDA. For mobile devices, Android offers the Talkback feature and the iPhone or iPad offer the Voiceover feature.
Popular browsers we recommend for an optimal experience
We recommend using the most current version (or the version releases just prior to) of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari or Microsoft Edge. These popular browsers allow you to zoom in and out using your mouse and keyboard shortcuts as follows (use the Control key in Windows systems, and the Command key in Mac OS):
- Hold the Control/Command key and scroll up or down to zoom in or out
- Hold the Control/Command key and press + or – to zoom in or out
